An alternate Historic Petroglyph Bus Tour is available on
August 25th at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
On this tour, you will have the unique privilege of viewing what has been described as one of the most historically significant petroglyph panels in the state. These panels are located on private property and are not open to the public. However, the Western Legends Round-Up has received permission from the landowner to bring in a limited number of individuals to see the panels. This guided tour will also take you through beautiful Johnson Canyon which has served as the backdrop to many Western adventures, both real and fictional.
In 1914, a man named Freddie Crystal came to Kanab convinced that the lost gold of the Aztecs was hidden in Johnson Canyon. The treasure hunt that followed has inspired gold hunters for generations and on this tour, you will hear the tales that cause many to still believe that Montezuma’s gold is hidden in the canyon.
The ending time of each bus tour is approximate.
